Sadly there’s been an increase in racism at football games. Robbie touched upon it in his post and it’s been well publicised in the press.
For a public figure such as SB to make a pictorial comparison of a mixed race baby with a chimpanzee, gives, to the wrong people, a sense of approval.
I see that several people on this thread think that this is NBD. I can assure you that for many people, including the paid and volunteer - community, social and charity workers that I know who work tirelessly to fight and prevent racism, this was a big deal.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I think Danny Baker made a stupid error of judgement.. TBH he should have known better...
I do wonder, however if any bit of material that contains Archie in the title will now be seen as being racist, and will of course, be derided and subsequently banned...
It would be VERY VERY sad if that was the case... a few days ago.. none of these would have been seen as being a racist slurr... Now I fear it is only a matter of time before the books are banned and Dudley Zoo needs to change the name of its own Archie..
Archie is just a name... I'm sure the royals will rise above it and Danny Baker will make a come back in about 5 years time... and I bet a LOT more kids are named Archie in the next few years
There's no racist connotation for existing simians, real or cartoon, called Archie. Why would there be?
Neither, in isolation, is the 1920's photograph of "the gentleman chimpanzee", who was a popular animal entertainer at the time, racist.
By adding the text "Royal Baby leaves hospital" to the photograph, just days after the mixed race Duchess of Sussex had given birth, does however have a strong racist connotation. Regardless of the intentions of DB.
Neither is there any racist connotation with Dudley Zoo's Archie, but if the zoo announced they'd be calling a new simian Archie Mountbatten, clearly there would be.
