Damp Smell
I have noticed recently that on a number of settings, the Air Conditioning is putting out Damp Smelling Air (certainly not fresh).
The vehicle itself shows no sign of being damp, carpets etc.
Not ever discovered this happening with any other vehicle I've had that has had Air Con, so could do with some ideas. Coffeecup

Do you leave the AC on, or have you switched it to ECON for the winter? I normally leave mine on all the time, but if I do switch to ECON it does release a damp odour. If I switch back to auto it goes away.

I think what happens is that after you have used your aircon and then switched it off or turned off the vehicle you get a small amount of condensation inside the heater box. This then settles on the filter. When you then switch it back on or start the car you get fresh air circulating, which evaporates the water giving off a musty smell. Bit like a sponge left over night.
It should clear after a bit.
You can get bacterial problems, which means for drastic attention "build-up on the matrix" or so I think?
PS Please dont believe anything I say... I dont. D3 HSE V8...

Still want to take a look at the one that has the article about taking the D3 radio to pieces. Coffeecup

There wasnt much about the radio being taken apart - more it was a 'placed' PR story from Alpine about how they test it together with in-car shots of man listening, with coke cans in the cup-holders. There was nothing to learn about the radio, just suitably placed quotes about "how they get it so good".
Pure placed PR!D3 HSE V8...
