Managed to slam door on the seatbelt buckle and ripped the driver door trim
Anyone know if this is repairable and a ball park cost for repair?
I know the new door card is likely to cost near £500rrp (less from TLO), so am looking at repair options as well as breakers yards.
TIA, MrH

LR design fault, as far as I am concerned.
Seat belt should retract properly to prevent this from happening.

Am also waiting to hear back from a retrimmer to see what they'd charge but I suspect the ebay option is the same if not cheaper.
Steve, can't blame LR if the driver twists the belt so much that it can't unwind enough to rewind

Looks like it was caused by thoughtless, heavy handed abuse to me.

When I bought mine it had a few nicks (nothing like that) in the door card from seatbelts being shut in the door. I was going to walk away, but the dealer assured me he had a trimmer that could resolve it.
Salesman had previously worked at a Bentley/RR dealer (Murray in Edinburgh I think) and had a trimmer he used in the past for cigar burns in a Bentley Conti upholstery
We agreed that if it looked like a dogs dinner I would walk, else I would buy it. I was amazed to be honest.
The dealer is in the borders, bit far from you but let me know if you are interested and I will fwd the name of the salesman.
It can be done well...although to be fair they were a fraction of that size.
Thanks Andy, but I think that's probably a bit far away, I'm in contact with a local trimmer, just waiting for his quote.
I'm waiting for some more info re the ebay item - just to make sure the marks he mentions are too obvious and then I'll probably go that route as I can do the repair myself and not have to arrange to take the car to the trimmers etc etc.

I hadn't spotted it when I first got in the car early today, only when I got back out to get something from the house. I did try to suggest it was SWMBO when she borrowed the D4 this morning, but as I didn't spot it straight away it may have been there a day or two and I had to admit it might have been me because I can remember catching the belt buckle myself a few days ago
So I couldn't shout at anyone, just quietly mumble profanities to myself - hey, nobody died
