Lots of sad tales on the forum about wheels going walkabout, and the winch cable being cut.
Get an RLD protector (uncle RAY).MY12 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand

Mostly said already but ...... ALL THE TIME
Purchase a protector, there are different makes out there but Uncle Rays are the cheapest & the best so shop around if you wish but it's a bit pointless.
It's best to get one before they nick the wheel, that way you only need the protector & not a wheel and winch Nick
2010 D4 ....... now gone and replaced with a 05RRV Autobiography
Fits D4 19 inch wheels no problem
Moved mine over when i swapped
yes a 19 would be better , but as you only get about 10mm space each side would like to see the little try and get round it
The centre boss keeps it firm and solid in the middle of the wheel Cheers Ian

when I had a D1...
I parked in Birmingham Airport....on a long trip to Taiwan
the guy on the gate advised me to take the spare of the back door & lodge it inthe boot.
Evidently there were reported thefts of wheels from D1's....nice new tyre & an untouched wheel.
I then modified my spare holder to have a padlock as well
more recently whilst parked in Sainsbury's in Halifax - a guy with a Defender had just the same done....wheel nicked & in very broad dayight.BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Found that someone had tried to steal mine recently, but the length of cylinder seems to have foiled them - this time!
