D4 wont start - "Steering Column Locked" |
|
Hi All,
Perhaps against my better judgement given the problems I had with my D3, I got a D4 about 4 weeks ago. Last night it broke down for the second time with the same fault. You get in press the button and it says on screen "Steering column locked" and the engine will not start ... regardless of what you try then it will not start. I only just got it back from the dealer after they "fixed" it by replacing the keys with new ones and claiming there "must have been a fault" with the smart keys.
Has anyone else heard of this fault? Its all very depressing really after looking forward to getting this car for so long. Appreciate any feedback.
Oh, and very oddly the fault occured at 6:15pm on a wednesday evening on both occassions last night and last week!?
Rgds

Something disturbing a signal?

It happens with mine sometimes, fixed by turning off and trying again. I understand its part of the software update.

Q093-Assurance program, One of the modules for an update is the KVM-Keyless Vehicle Module.
Will fix little software glitches as you have been experiencing.
