My 2016 D4 is stuck in park.
The rotating gear selector rises but won’t turn.
It’s done this a couple of times in the week but released after a few seconds.
I came to drive home tonight and it started, the rotating nob raises but won’t turn.
Any help would be greatly appreciated before I have to take it into the dealer 161 Discovery - Business spec. 5 seats, silver with black leather, 20" stormers with cooper ltz's, bonnet protector.

Have you tried to lift the rotary knob slightly? I know there was an issue with the tooling wearing out which caused it to fail to lift fully. It should be replaced under warranty as it shouldn't have failed so soon. 1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

Yes, I tried lifting, pushing, slowly twisting, begging, but no luck thanks. 161 Discovery - Business spec. 5 seats, silver with black leather, 20" stormers with cooper ltz's, bonnet protector.

Hi there,
It will most likely be the solenoid failing. Too common unfortunately. I had one replaced a few weeks ago. Only an hour or two to replace, mine was done under warranty
Good luck with it

Someone with a fault code reader might be able to get you going. Mine did the same, came up with codes P1707 and U402, cleared them and it's been fine ever since. I now keep a fault code reader in the car just in case though.
