D4 steering wobble and sale

Right. I don't travel on the motorway that much anyone, but when I did yesterday, when I braked when travelling above 65 I got a strong vibration through the steering wheel.
It doesn't happen below 55 and only when braking.
So I'm thinking lower arm bushes.
This leads me to my next point. I'm trying to sell as well and this obviously is a bit of a stumbling block.
I appreciate that I won't get the money I want for it anymore, but at the same time I'm loathe to sell it to WBAC or similar.
The best price I've had so far is £17850 From car shop Swindon.
Do I sell to them?
Wound someone on here offer a little more and take it?
Do I fix it and try again to get £19-20k
I need to get rid soon.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

sounds more like front discs - its been an issue for quite a few of us (do a search on here). Easier to swap than lower arm bushes.

Most common occurance is after having front dics and pads swpped and using non OEM discs.

Thing is I haven't touched the front pads and discs at all. I'll offer a straight edge up to them but can't see how I wouldn't feel any vibration at any speed but fast

its a very subtle difference in braking, but I will put money on when you were braking above 65, its was quite gentle (to just scrub some speed off). If you braked harder the vibe would go away (you can of course try this to see if my thoughts are correct, at least it will remove one area that could be causing your issue).

If most of you driving is lower speed its likely that you are then braking more firmly as you are coming to a stop/etc.

The top comments here are when the discs are running out of line, you get the steering vibe under gentle high speed braking (but no vibe through the brake pedal), but if brake harder it pulls the discs back into line and the vibe stops.

Like it say, its just one thing to consider and fairly easy to prove/disprove.

I had similar on my D3 and when I changed the front discs and pads I found one of the pads was jammed in place. Could be as simple as new pads and a clean up of the holders required.
