D4 Reverse Camera
Looking at getting a D4 and narrowly missed out on a 2012 D4 HSE with surround camera system.
Is the standard D4 rear camera the same as you get in the surround camera system and can you see the towball with it??Discovery 4 HSE Luxury Santorini MY12

You can't quite see the towball, but you do get very used to where it is. Some people stick a piece of plastic onto the bumper to stick over where the towball is so you can see where you need to be aiming. It's only an inch or so out of sight.Bodsys Brake Bible

No it is not the same, with the surround system and TOW ASSIST and HITCH ASSIST you get a fantastic view of the tow ball with projected travel lines plus you get a zoom function that really does make it childs play to hitch up LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

I can see the tow ball on mine with just the standard camera and removable tow ball. MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added

Yes, I'll take some on Monday when I'm back from holiday.
It makes hitching a trailer very lazy, lower suspension, reverse ball under hitch, raise suspension. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out a way of connecting the electrics without getting out of the driver's seat yet. MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added
