Hi Russell,
Nice story
"Selected low range and HD"
Can you please tell me what you mean by HD as I am keen to learn what settings I would need if I happened to find myself in a similar position?
Thanks

did you know if you press the lights button on the key fob twice the reversing lights come on ??
I activated this on my D3 using Faultmate but never even checked the My10 D4 and only discovered it by accident 2 nights ago on the MY12 when i pressed the wrong button... Duncan

Well done.
Just returned from a day in the mud and grime grass track racing, towing a T3.5 Iffor Williams trailer with a grass track car on the back across really really muddy field.
It was all down to the drivers assessment and application - in choosing the right and best vehicle for the job, had the driver (Russell) not made the correct assessment and applied it he could quite well have been there longer than intended.
I am not saying or implying that a Freelander can do the job of a Disco, but I am saying they are a brilliant car and are not to be criticised they are very capable in mud and snow providing they have sufficient tread on the tyres and the ruts are within their capability.
This is only one off many incidents that I am sure Russell will experience in his ownership of a Disco- it is called the permagrin It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

As you say it is a matter of opinion, I have had 3 F1's and 2 F2's, never got on with with the F1's but found them very good in mud and snow, F2's very good all round for what they are ie SUV and cheaper to run than a Disco. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
