D4 Mudflaps

The first mod I've done to my 'new to me' 65plate D4 HSE Lux is an absolute essential by the look of it.

I picked her up in Bristol on Saturday and drove home in the rain to my place just South of Petersfield.
Most of the last 6 miles or so is on single track country roads that obviously have a lot of mud and debris laying about.

I'd placed this advert on here for a set of mudflaps:
https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/wanted-mudflaps-185417.html

Because I'd seen from my old D3 that they really are required to stop the side of the car getting covered in mud etc.

I fitted them on Sunday, but only cleaned off the area where they fit so I could take these images today and show just how much dirt is thrown up on the car without them.
Obviously I've now cleaned the rest off.

It also looks a lot better with them on in my opinion.

I find it amazing that they were not fitted as standard to a 65 plate HSE Lux.

Nasher.
Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

Only thing I’d say is to keep an eye on them. The plastic is quite brittle and can break easily.

I fitted thes Tuff Rok ones - they’re rubber and last better than the sets of placcy ones I had before.

They're only "brittle and can break" if you buy the cheaper ones without the reinforcing metal brackets ... imo, of course. Wink

Never had a flap break in all my time off-road.
Personally, I think side steps could be more vulnerable and expensive collateral damage. Wink

The left step provides a nice “soft close” function for the door after I went off road......

Anyway, clearly you have had better experiences with the flaps than I had. Happy to be wrong. Again.
