D4 Lowline to Highline upgrade
After deciding to keep the car for a couple of years at least I've decided to go for the media upgrade from GS lowline system to HSE Logic 7 touch screen which i'll detail on this thead.
So far not had to spend too much and have the following in a big pile in my garage
Dash loom incl. ICE
Main ICE loom from dash to rear quarter panel
Sat Nav
Media unit
DAB Unit
Logic 7 speakers (lots of speakers - going from 6 diddy ones to 13 powerful ones)
Premium Amp AU3
I've got HSE seats already with screens in the back so may go for RSE and TV but at the moment know won't use so why bother so will just create a MOST loop where ICE loom expects those units
Spoken to a few members already on their experiences and think this isn't for the faint hearted as i'll be taking the dash out for the new loom and need carpets up for new speaker routing.
One thing i'm still on the lookup for is the Harman Kardon amp connectors if anyone has any lying around and probably a few other things like where I can buy speaker connectors from
Desperate to get on but thinking I might have to wait till the new year before I get a few days (and find a big warm garage) to this Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

Part of what you are planning tackling I would like to do with my lower spec one.
Not too sure I would benefit from upgrading the speakers and amp etc, as I have hearing aids and not the finest hearing!
Not sure if it’s possible to add just the colour screen and possibly sat nav in place of the black and white screen?
Will watch and learn!
Good luck.Discovery commercial tdv6 auto 2013

The only thing I need advice on is the wiring - does anyone have a MY13 wiring diagram or any help how to wire up the Amp and DAB module - looking at the MY16 wiring looks like a 40amp connection on Link 11E on the CJB - any advice welcome Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

Not sure how long it takes to take the dash out but to take the interior out it takes me about 2 hours.
Is all the wiring you have from a 2013 or 2014 on vehicle? I ask as the 14/16 used almost identical modules but was wired different in the way all the power was distributed.
If you’re replacing the looms I would put the RSE modules and wiring in. It will literally take more time to leave out than it would to fit it.
Have you got the window amps for TV etc?

Thanks Dan for the info. Looks like i'll need a R5 Micro Relay popped in the CJB for the ICE then. Will look at loom to see if power runs round to an Amp link then
M3bobby - yes this HSE wiring came out of an same year D4 so should be good to go on that front. Not going to bother with rear screens after selling RSE seats as will never be used anyway.

Ok, just be aware that if all the wiring came out of a car equipped with RSE you will need additional/modified wiring if you intend to fit the Tv. With RSE the signal from the TvM is sent to the RSE first via green LVDS and from the RSE to the FCDIM via co-ax. Without RSE the signal is sent direct to the FCDIM via co-ax but the module end is wired into the power connector.
As the CJB is the same for all models of the year and fused/relayed exactly the same, you may find you have all the fuses/relays installed.
You’ll also need to do all the required CCF edits. If you need some direction on a good way to find what you need to edit, let me know. I’ve found a pretty good way to find what edits you need.

I’ll PM you this evening, if I forget, give me a nudge. If you find you need some extra loom parts, let me know as I may have some bits.

D-day
Ok nearly ready to go; pics on progress so far
Bough amp and DAB bracket and installed
Got Sub in place with wiring routed to Amp
Got wiring ready for the 7 new speakers
Routed GPS aerial in brake light unit; stripped down from advice so it would fit
All doors now have bigger speakers installed and mid speakers in door card
All seats out so carpets can be lifted
Swatted up on things like glove box pin removal tool (but haven’t found bits to work)
Meeting Chris (M3Bobby) tomorrow for help with dash loom swap over . More pics to follow. Wish us luck and any advice please

Met Nick on Sunday and what a thoroughly nice chap he is. Brought some juice for the kids, chocolate, crisps, sandwiches, kitchen sink....
Had a good day and enjoyed getting stuck into someone else’s car. He’ll be along with an update when he can but all I can say is, it wasn’t as bad as expected and probably not as bad as a LR dealer would have you believe.
All we had left in the end were a dozen bolts, half a dozen clips, an air bag and a sausage roll so we must have done something right lol 🥴
