D4 key less entry not working. Switched off?

2013 D4 XS. Getting to grips with newly purchased car. Searches so far show that with key in pocket you should be able to open door by pulling handle. Not working on mine. Wonder if switched off by previous owner.
Many searches on net but cannot find instructions for switching this back on. Or am I doing something daft ??

Did the XS in 2013 have keyless entry, just looked on Autotrader, found hald a dozen 2013 XS models, none with keyless entry.

Do the external door handles have a little rubber square on them Question

Aargh...... suspect mine is non keyless.

Followed tintenter instructions to the letter several times to 'enable keyless entry'.

1. After 3 x on headlamp button, I then heard a buzz on pressing lock button.
2. Closed door but no change on pulling driver door handle.
3. I don't think I have a 'door handle keyless area'. All my handles are plain with no markings other than the lock symbol on the passenger door fixed part of the handle, for key entry. Black spot on handle picture as previous answer not present.
4. The only auto function I can find is that if I unlock the car on the button, then fail to open any door, the car will revert to locked within about 30 secs. requiring further button unlock if I want to open a door.

Rather a shame if keyless not present although the 'buzz' in 1. suggests something is happening.
Thinking caps on again please.

@ DSL, I get grief from the boss as it’s deactivated, but I remind her that there is a much better chance it will still be were it was left.

If you haven’t got the little square as in DSL’s post then you haven’t got keyless entry, the little square is pressed to lock the vehicle leaving your fob in the pocket.

Most vehicles re-lock after a minute if you unlock it but don’t open the door, it’s normal.

I have switched the keyless entry off on my folks’ D4, they only ever used it when they thought the boot unlocked when they walked up to it. Shocked

Mind you, not as funny as my D4 (ex-folks’ D4) parked near their D4 and mum pressing the unlock button on her fob and couldn’t understand why my car (ex-her car) wasn’t unlocking. She’d have gotten a real fright had I left my car open and actually gotten in, she’s a bit of neat freak. Laughing Laughing

I know, I was obviously adopted. Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up

With much regret I have to accept I do not in fact have keyless open / lock so back to the old way of pressing those rather hard buttons on the remote.

Many thanks to those who took time to reply and especially the child's guide on / off which I could not find elsewhere. Hope others will take benefit from this thread.

Don’t be downhearted, many of us have disabled it in an effort to make the vehicle a little more secure, you still have a fantastic motor to enjoy Thumbs Up
