Personally I think its a status measure for LR customers.
The LEDs probably cost a few pounds and not really relevant but model upgrades and status are relevant

But we like to change original led`s with more powerfull.
White headlamp with original leds
Black - upgraded.

That`s why I try to make something like 2014MY in old headlamps. But it will take a long time
