D4 Front Lower Arms Replacement
I have been advised that the front lower arms on my 2010 D4 will need replacing in the near future..
I have been quoted £680 inc parts, alignment & VAT. That was from a local indie using LR parts.
First question: does that seem a fair price?
Second question: is it possible to get good quality aftermarket parts? (I have done a search on here and checked the relevant sponsors websites and can't seem to find any.)
Thanks.2010 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand on GY DTs (was on GG ATs)

£680 is a fairly good price, if using genuine parts

I also think the arms are the same as RRS/Armoured D3 but have not yet found 100% information on this.
I have checked the OE numbers, they have the same bushings as the D3 they have the bigger ball joint of the armoured or RRS and the chassis is the same so why would the metal work of the arms be any different?
I need to talk further with our suppliers on this.Paul Redding

Just found the info @ www.sidem.be they are recognised manufacturer to the OE market places so I am fairly happy with the quality of information.
Using their catalogue information and OE numbers from Microcat for the D4 arms they have confirmed the it is the same for the increased duty D3 or RRS options. This fits what I already know about the ball joints and bushes so I will now list this version of the arm for the D4. It does also mean that the standard D3 arm would fit but as we like to follow OEM standards we will not list that for the D4.Paul Redding

Great stuff, Steve! Many thanks - one last question, is the fixing kit needed in addition to the assembly itself please?2010 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand on GY DTs (was on GG ATs)

I would buy the inner bolts washers & nuts - They can be a right pain on the D3 as they rust in, no doubt the D4 will be the same in time but the now? Perhaps they are ok? You can always return what you don't need.Paul Redding

Just before I bought mine, the rear bushes on my front lower arms were replaced with orange (Dynamic) Polybush bushes and the ride / handling feels great. Maybe an option worth considering?Previously:

Not sure I follow - is this relating to LR parts or after-market? Or is it a mod for either? Sorry but all this is fairly new to me Further details much appreciated.2010 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand on GY DTs (was on GG ATs)
I only realised after owning the vehicle for a couple of weeks that the Polybush was fitted, but at 91k miles the ride feels excellent Previously:
