What a shame Sad

I spoke to two HATOโ€™s before I bought my first D4 and they were really helpful and were happy to stop for 20 minutes and tell me all about their vehicles and what they thought of them. Such a pity to see one go up in flames because itโ€™s irreplaceable and they were probably doing good work Thumbs Up

Itโ€™ll have to be another Shogun or a โ€˜5 for them now, unless there are still enough โ€˜4โ€™s left to go around.

Am I being a fool to think the Highways Agency are there to deal with non 999 calls and would of thought as they can be the first on scene the vehicle would be carrying a fire extinguisher?

Which is something every one of the Highways England Disco 4โ€™s winds up doing on a fairly regular basis, so itโ€™s unlikely to have caused this.

They will have extra lights etc. fitted and I guess it's entirely possible there was a dodgy connection/short which eventually caused the fire in relation to that. Don't think D4's normally have a habit of self-combusting.

My mate has recently started with the highways agency .. he was driving that disco the day before

I asked him if they know what caused it

โ€œIt has had a heater problem for a couple of days ,just before it went up it was towing a tanker , all the warning lights on the dash came on and the suspension was goin up and down on its own then flames underneath, the tanker driver Censored himself ๐Ÿ˜‚โ€

Wonder if some auxiliary cabling (for jump starting etc) shorted on the chassis near or on the compressor?

Might explain the behaviour and the initial seat of the fire.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
