D4 in Daily Telegraph
Photo of D4 partially visible behind Duchess of Cambridge inside of today ‘s Telegraph. Just wondered why it wasn’t a publicity grabbing shot involving a D5. 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

Just a thought - there is an armored version of the D4 but (I think?) none of the D5 (yet?)
Perhaps they don’t swap cars like some people swap t-shirts or socks

The queen still drives a L322 Range Rover, so the D4 is relatively new.

Years ago driving over the A939 from Tomintoul towards Ballater in the days when when the roads were deserted we passed Her Majesty driving a Range Rover. She appeared alone and without escort. She was in residence at Balmoral at the time.2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

I passed Duke of Edinburgh driving a green Discovery 2 on the M40 in the early 2000's - security sat in the back
Hogging the middle lane at about 65 MPH

My mate works as close protection to the Royal family. He gets to drive all kinds of stuff, including some rather special sports cars!
