Bought it from "Too Good to Auction" in Southampton - they're part of the Snows group down there.
Did us a decent deal on the p/x and some other bits and bobs that needed sorting (LR Service, MOT etc.)

The issue for Land rover is that the V6 and v8 engines are manufactured by Ford Bridgend.
When BMW skid JLR to Ford, part of the sale agreement was that BMW would not warrant any engine failures.
When Ford sold JLR to TATA, they imposed the same sales agreement, that they would not warrant the Cleveland or Lion engines, so any failure of an engine has to come out if JLRs pockets , not Ford, the supplier. Added to that, Ford agreed to keep engines at cost price plus 10% until 2020, after that, market price, hence the reason JLR have built their own engine factory to produce 4 cyl inline and 6 cyl in line.
The issue of reman engines is quite a strange one, the v8 in the USA, the dealers prefer to hold onto the failed units as they can get more for them selling locally, so there is always a shortage of remains for V8s.
In some ways JLR are generous in any engine repairs as the cost fall on them Owner of a 2010 Discovery 4 XS.
Plus a Mitsubishi Outlander (don’t ask...)

I thought the petrol V8s and the supercharged V6 which replaced the V8 on D4 were Jaguar engines? I mean AJ41, AJ133 and AJ126.
