D4 alarm through the horn
Can I default the alarm on my D4 to sound through the horn like on a D3?
Tested it yesterday and can't believe how quiet it is! MY15 D4 SDV6 HSE Corris Grey - Gone

I've not found a way yet. I have managed to get it to sound horns and siren but for whatever reason it is erratic and stops working. On later vehicles I cannot get it to work at all.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

what happens if you remove the alar altogether? I'd thought it then defaulted to through the horn?

No luck for me on an MY13 but the D3 works the way you describe.

I've set mine to do it using my IID tool. It works well.
However, there was another thread where I think Wiggs had tried it on his and couldn't get it to work. MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added
MY2019 D5 HSE 3.0 SDV6 - sold to a dealer for a crazy price! - So good I bought another!
MY2012 D4 HSE 3.0 SDV6 - retired to a new home

I guess the alarms must have changed, as I was really surprised how loud the siren is on my 2010 model.Andy
