My D4
So, I've had my D4 GS MY10 for a month now after chopping in my 2000 TD5 ES.
The TD5 had everything on it and the GS is basic - but what a basic!
What do I miss?
Well, I think in the 7 years I had the TD5 I used the front spots twice or three times so not them!
Sunroofs (D4 has none) - guess.......
Leather - hmmmm, still mulling that one
The back door and step - at least I could get in the boot of the thing! (Vertically challenged doncha know)
Powered and heated seats
edit:Powerfold mirrors
What is better?
Built in phone connection - no more faffing with the parrot.
Engine and box - awesome - currently sitting at 31.7 mpg (pic says 31.2 - forgot I went round the corner!!)
Seats 6&7 - much better
Spare wheel position - but why o why couldn't LR have chamfered the centre corners of the seat backs so that you can get to the winder mech without emptying the boot. (Thanks for the protection plate Ray)
Dashboard is so much more refined
Suspension that actually works nicely!
Nitpicks
No satnav - but I've heard rumours that the LR one is not as good as should be expected so I continue to use my (brilliant) Garmin as I always have.
No touchscreen - but I dont miss what I've never had.
Already replaced the battery as I kept getting the triangle
No doubt I'll come up with some more on both sides, but currently ecstatic!!

Leave a socket permanently attached to the winder nut, a socket reducer, and a small extension spindle and this should sneakily poke through between seats 6 & 7 and allow you to operate the spare wheel winder without having to muck about with the seats2000 D2 TD5 - big red tractor (2004-2007)

I've had my 2010 TDV6 now for just over a year and it is without doubt the best car I have ever owned. I do hate to disappoint about your trip photo, mine was reading 31.4 when I filled it up on Thursday, but it only worked out to be 27.1 and I always find it to be out by 3 or 4 miles.Andy

Not yet but will do at some point!
Great ideas chaps - thanks - I should have 'liberated' my trusty bottle jack from the TD5 - that worked a treat but I do have a 3 tonne trolley jack that I carry around (mostly.....).
@Fitzy yes - but I was just playing on a long Sunday morning trip. It'll certainly be a lot less than that in the long run as I tow a caravan 20 odd times a year for weekends with mates and then 3 weeks in France this summer!

Well, just tried it, the gap between the backs of seats 6&7 is about 1/16th of an inch, I cant even get a 1/4 drive extension down between, have to think of something else....
Cheers anyway
