Hi, got a 2009 D3 2.7
Drives spot on... except for some times.
Just came home, and got onto the motorway, no problem. After a few mins at 70 ish MPH, got this gradual onset vibration through the cabin, quite unplesant. Has happened more than once, seems odd, once i drop down to 40 mph to come off the motorway, it dies away and its gone.
I could then go back up to 70mph, and it might, might not happen.
Any ideas where to start?
Am new to this D3 ownership game

Some ideas…
1. are the tires balanced? I think the vibration would be always present, at a certain speed interval, if it that was the problem however.
2. Another - take a look at the prop shaft. The center bearing in particular. It’s surrounded by a rubbery thing but eventually that breaka and the whole thing flaps loose in its mount.

Thanks for the reply. I did hear about the center prop bearings going bad. What I don’t know is what the symptoms are.
I don’t think it’s tyres, I’d imagine that would happen every time if it was.
Cheers

Could be brakes binding on rear wheels, check if they become hot when vibration occurs. Defender 110 SE 2021, Tasman Blue

Will do, I can also try tapping the brakes when it happens.
