D3 Sat Nav saved locations into D4 |
|
Going to be picking my new D4 up in a couple of weeks. I have loads of business and private locations saved in the D3 sat nav from the last 4-years of 'touring', any ideas (manual or otherwise) to extract the locations from the D3 and then get them programmed into the D4? 11 HSE Santorini Black

When I got rid of the old d3 I went into my stored location settings and wrote down the co ordinates for all the places I wanted .
Then typed them back in the new D3 G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Wouldn't be nice if LR enabled the USB port to pass route and waypoint data into the Sat nav... Just like you can do with Cheap windscreen mount GPS units. Discovery 4 SE Long range fuel tank Kaymar Rear Bar.

I use the camera on my phone to take a photo of each location as a backup as after one dealer service the list got wiped. This is probably the fastest way to gather up all those locations, but as noted it may be worth your while wiping the locations before handing the car to someone else.
once I have all the pics I transfer the data to a spreadsheet for storage as a backup on my nas. Dr. Ian Malcolm:
