D3 Powerfold Relay
Hi all, I recently fitted D4 facelift wing mirrors to my D3 2008 TDV6 S spec. I've never had powerfold mirrors but all the wiring is there. I read that I just needed to fit a relay where the fuse box is(behind the glove box). Trouble is I cannot find the brown connector housing where the relay is supposed to go. Mine was an imported vehicle from Ireland if that makes a difference 🤷♂️. Does anyone know if the relay housing is anywhere else in the car? On a plus note, I did manage to get the mirror moving correctly on the X and Y axis and the indicators working too. It would just be nice to be able to fold them in when needed now. Thanks on advance 👍

I used this to guide to fit the new wing mirrors. Unfortunately where the relay housing is supposed to be, (in the guide), it's not in my one. I was just wondering whether anyone else has this relay sited elsewhere behind the dashboard before I spend next weekend stripping it out. Perhaps it's just mine that hasn't got the option 🤷♂️

I had a good search in that area but still couldn't find the housing. I even stuck my phone in the gap and took photos to see if one was lurking below with no joy. I'll take another look today with a small extendable mirror. You never know!

Thanks MikeBob. I'm thinking that mine never came with the ability to upgrade. I've got the relay, I just need to find that brown/beige connector that it fits into you like yours. I shall persist though!
