D3 performance with constant driving on v. bad roads
We live in Kenya and have a Disco300Tdi and went to the recent launch of the Disco3 in Kenya. (OK so we are a bit behind the times out here). Impressive, and we are thinking of getting one.
But a major topic of conversation at the launch was: How would it do with frequent drving on typical bad African roads, with lots of potholes etc which mean constant banging on the suspension etc. Would the computers hold up? Would the suspension hold up?
Any experience of the impact of these conditions on D3 reliability etc??

David,
Welcome to the forum.
In answer to your question... as far as I know the D3's chassis and systems are superior to that of the last model. A very strong chassis.
Its also been tested very hard so in theory should be fine.
Not having the same road conditions as yourself I cannot answer for sure but one of the US or Australian owners here should be able to.

I once caused the "Special Programs Unavailable" and "Engine System Fault" warnings to come on as I hit a pile of wet snow about 1.5 Feet deep while traveling at 50MPH. A good ol restart got me going in 90 seconds and no issues since.

Bad surfaces
David
I live in rural Russia where I run a 4.4 HSE the roads here are terrible and I mean terrible. I have run my car for 7 months now with little or no issues. I had a suspension fault upon collection which meant me driving the car to Turkey and back for dealer attention...5000kms round trip. The car rides the very poor surfaces and the pot holes very well and seems to take the odd heavy smash in to a deep hole without any concern. The airsuspension is just superb. Over the past couple of years we have wrecked 2 Range Rover classics both requiring the replacement of the springs shocks and bushes. The doors and tailgate on my LR3 needs tightening on the slam plates to make them shut a little tighter, my tailgate has a little shake in it which tightening should stop. I have the odd trim "shimmy" and rattle but nothing serious. I'd say an LR3 would be perfect for your environment...providing you have a dealer who can address your problems. I don't so I drive fingers crossed that I don't need one.
