Sydney is going to be plunged into darkness for an hour to raise awareness of global warming http://uk.news.yahoo.com/25032007/323/aust...ckout.html
Jumping on a badwagon-taken to extreme- I remember when the industrial strife of the early 70's in the UK did this for money not global warming.... 2007 TDV6 HSE 'Silver Lady'. With 'free' privacy glass LOL.
Taking the greenpi$$ is: Green taxing your citizens more & using some of the money to buy nukes.

I,m going to boycot the whole thing and leave all my lights on. Let's see if I cop abuse for not towing the global warming line. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Easy. Tell 'em.
Put yourself on record. Send them an email, letter, postcard, whatever. Inform them, succinctly and politely, if they agree to (pick your favorite irritating green measure), you will not only vote against them in the next election, you will also find an opponent and donate to or campaign for that person.
Did that with my local congresscritter. He replied with a well-written, completely specious constitutional argument, but there is no question that he got the message: "You want to stay employed ? Do what we demand of you and cut out the ."
The weakness of our representative governments is that all we can reasonably find are fallible human beings to fill those seats when we need supermen. (Though gentlemen like William Wilberforce was certainly one such) Someone who does the right thing, even when it isn't popular. Too many do the popular thing even when it isn't right, thinking it assures them continued employment.
You strike at the heart of a politician when you tell it that you have an opinion and the will to follow through with it at the ballot box - and you have friends whom you will also influence.
It's astonishing how well this works. Recall that the greens are spectacularly noisy, basically unemployed people with nothing better to do than be noisy and obnoxious. They get a lot of attention because they have time on their hands. The rest of us have to give up something in order to write that letter or post that e-mail.
If you can show your local politician that the greens might not actually be representative of those people who might be voting in the next election, you can get his or her attention.
The good news is that these idiots have done enough dumb things and flogged enough provably false information that they are losing credibility faster than a Series I leaks oil.
If you're serious, get out there and make your opinion heard. Good luck (we're going to need it!)
