Hi,
Bought My 06 HSE LR3 in April 07 from the USA and shipped her to Lagos, (Nigeria) with 8k miles on the clock.
She was in A1 condition when I bought her and 3yrs later has 33k on the clock.
Cars been reliable, enjoyed every second of ownership and cant also think what I'd replace her with.
We have a local LR dealer out here but they wont touch privately imported LR's unless you register em 1st which costs roughly 4,000 Pounds???
So we drive around with these cars with no warranties and pray for the best lol, but if something goes wrong we have a network of former dealership mechanics that we go to for repairs/diagnostics.
Major problems I've had have been a fuel pump failure and tyre wear issues so changed the arms/bushes.
Driving home last weekend suddenly lost the AC, then red battery light came on, then lost power steering, was 20 mins from home so managed to limp home.
Called a couple of mechanics and came on the forum to do some research before car could get looked at monday.
Mechanics been round and has found the following faults, AC Compressor Burnt, Alternator and Alternator Belt also need replacing. Tiny particles also found in Condenser so that needs changing as well.
WHEW.
Could someone please recommend an LR parts company in the UK so I can get some quotes for parts above.
Also appreciate any tips or suggestions on how I can improve on my fuel consumption, no matter how I drive car averages 8-12 MPG at best. Only 250 miles range on a full tank of petrol, and its been this way since I started driving the car in August 07.
