D3 in Austria - minus 17 this morning and won't start!

Evening all - currently ski-ing in Austria and it was minus 17 this morning, so a lot colder last night. The D3 (55plate tdv6) started fine this mornign but only ran for 15 to 20 seconds before stalling.

Tried a few times but no joy so put it down to waxing in the diesel, this afternoon when it was up to minus 7 (oh joy!) it still wouldnt start! Same symptoms it will start and run for 15 to 20 seconds and then cuts out.

My guess is blocked fuel filter (either water or waxing in the diesel) - anyone got any other suggestions?

Before folks ask the diesel is bought locally so should be good for low temperatues, and it has a full main stealer service history (for what its worth) and its just had its 105k service.

Thanks in advance!

Had a similar problem in an earlier Disco some years ago - would start and run but very very sluggish, 5 mph, ended up in garage workshop fuel filter removed and ice removed from same car warmed up for 3 hours in heated workshop (some people have all the luck) fuel had been picked up in alpine Germany but mechanic suggested adding more anti waxing additive to prevent the problem from returning.

Don't suppose your hotel has parking underground? And not further than 15seconds away.... Whistle
Thats what I do here if there's any winter job to do! Most here have a surprisingly warm tempurature. You might be able to drain any water from the filter when its warmed up?
Never been to Austria so can't comment if they have any or not....
