It's much more user friendy to have the timer.
You don't need to remember to switch it off or reset it for the following morning.
or have the heater left on and forgotton about! For £6 its best to order it

A little update

Parts ordered, but w-bus connector to be shipped from Hungary is not coming, I had a refund and a email from the vendor stating that due to Covid 19 the Hungarian post will not accept any parcels to a UK destination, it can be sent by FedEx at around €25.00

Don't know if it's still viable to pay the extra or wait to see if Hungarian post will start sending again ?

Ask the original guy if he will ship to UK

If he does. At least you have a spare remote

Thanks Pete

Didn't get a reply, so I checked https://lr-fbh.co.uk/shop/ and they had one in stock (anytime I had tried before the have not been in stock), purchased and on its way (-8c last night), next question, my wife runs a D4 (2010 HSE) if/when the w-bus converter becomes available, along with timer and remote already purchased, can they be fitted to the D4 ?

I'm not sure on the D4. THey are different.

I would recommend the factory options on a D4.
For example timed climate (thru LCD display, need enabling) or remote kit which is fitted in the rear right boot)

Have a look on the forum. Plenty of info about

I bought the one from https://lr-fbh.co.uk/shop/ for £125 and works of the third fob button and the "home lights" Press it once for between 1 - 7 secs and off 7 - 15 secs.

Easy to fit, and even has the wire to pin 2 fitted with the correct pin connector.

It stays on for either 15 mins or 30 mins, you change the jumper inside the control to change the length of time.

Good mod to have, I was going to buy one of the others but it went from £60 - £240! The cabin is toasty warm as soon as you start up.

I bought one of these last week, fitted it at the weekend and it is brilliant. Totally agree with what you said, very easy to fit, simple to use.

Ok, I’m doing it the hard way (it’s the only way I know). Could I pick your brains again as electrics is not my forté (had to check how that was spelt) 😉
Pic shows:
RTU5024 GSM switch (liked the idea of switching it on from my bed).
W-bus controller
Timer unit.
So, these are my thoughts. 12v and ground to the GSM switch and timer and bus. I’m not sure how to wire the two white switch wires on the timer to the GSM? And I’m not sure how to wire the output of the timer to the bus?
Cheers in advance!

To answer how you wire the timer output
Note the 3 blue screw terminals on the timer

Note Jumpers J4 and J5 are fitted in the top position.

Red is + 12v
Orange is the signal to the Wbus controller

I couldn’t be bothered with keeping a SIM alive over summer

Thanks...

Ok, so the thick red wire coming in from right is the main 12v supply going into the timer NO/NC relay? The orange is coming out of the (normally open) relay to the bus 'switch' input ?

So I just to need to determine the arrangement for the timer switch wires ???

GSM switch can still be used during the 'summer' ;-0 Or cancel the sim and renew in the winter...
