Will the rack fit inside or will I have to bolt it on some how? I have LR roof bars so either way it wont be a problem. I'll have an empty car as I'm only going down to Wisbech to terminate a fibre optic cable(kit is quite small)Club Exped trailer

Hi Ent
Rack will not fit inside, but it should be possible to tie it down to roof bars(mind paint work etc). Will take a look at my rack in morning and see best way to fit to roof bars.
Thanks again

Its no bother. It will get strapped to the roof bars using the ratchet cargo straps or I might go down in the van. Martin let me know the best way when you have tried it out tomorrow.Club Exped trailer

You ok to carry the rack Ent ? And if yes , Would this be easier on everyone else , Kev , Snowy ,if Ent did the hauling on this?
Sounds like a better plan definitely. If anything goes wrong and you need me as a plan B, let me know.... The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us yet.

I haven't heard from Barry either.
Sorry Lads .
I been on the road the last few days with work so away from here.

The G4 rack I had still had gaps down the sides of the floor, so lashing it to the roof bars would be OK. My concern would be with the length of the rack vs. the spacing of the roof bars - I'm not sure how stable the whole thing would be.

Just had a look at rack, and I think if you were prepared to centre G4 rack across roof bars and tie down really well you would have no problems, but you would have to let some of the G4 rack hang out over the back.On the standard rack it would be possible to get some large cable ties and secure roof bars and G4 rack together and to make it stable try to secure a ratchet strap or two as well.Again not sure how floor will impede you as mine has not got one.Hope we are not going to put you to too much trouble with this but I am confident you will be able to secure the rack with a bit of fiddling.
Thanks to everyone again for your help on this and hope the crew on this side can return the favour someday.
