D3 Broken ish
Just had mine diagnosed as a faulty N/S speed sensor. The faults I have are :-
1. Access height only
2. No HDC
3. Park Brake fault
4. No special programs
LRA diagnosed is a an open circuit, he checked the connections and wiring, did a PC reset and the fault still lies even when stationary
So it looks like its off to the Dealerships yet again. I thought it was related to yesterday's Plain, or even the jet wash today, but no. Looks like it was something that was about to give up, and luckily not in Salisbury yesterday.
Guess there's no fix I can do , or it will be a bumpy drive to Ashford. Or hopefully the fault will dry out/disapear as quick as it arrived

over here Cat its the Passenger side. He has hand his hands all over the wiring and plugs, checked the ECU, re-flashed it and its the Speed Sensor apparently. IN THE HUB

Common problem. I carry spare sensors. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

not sure but I seem to recall some had chaffed wires by the tyre in that area from a poorly held loom
Im finding items 1,2 and 4 on your list are common as the car is putting itself into a kind of limp home mode it would appear and you may have found that the cruise and some gearbox functions are removed too.

Is it anything I can do Andrew, Cat. Not wanting it to go to the dealers to be honest. ALthough Charlie Brice, LRA man is doing the necessary tomorrow. Just thought if I can fix then great
Tis wierd though, I know we all got a tad muddy, the wet yesterday. but the D3 ran like a dream to and from Salisbury, and really impressed me with its capabilites. Looked at it this morning and though jet wash , I bought 3 basic token and gave ALL the arches a good clean, started it up and now I have these faults.
Maybe it needs to dry out

GTR says
'4 . NOTE: Damage includes insulation only damage as this can allow water into the wheel
speed sensor head.'
looks like you broke it
it also says
'To prove that the wheel speed sensor is working, disconnect and re-connect it in place of
a sensor on another wheel that is not logging a DTC. For this test there is no need to
install the sensor to the hub. It is sufficient to just electrically connect it. Carry out an
ignition cycle (ignition on/off) and then use the diagnostic tool to read the fault memory.
If an electrical fault DTC has been logged for the wheel to which the suspect sensor has
been connected, it indicates that the sensor is faulty and should be replaced. If no DTC
was logged for that wheel, it indicates that the fault is in the wiring to the suspect wheel
or the ABS/DSC module. Warranty analysis indicates that it is rarely in the ABS/DSC
module and scotsman should not jetwash the vehicle as they will break it.'

I don't even need to say what a stupid thing to do this was - NEVER EVER EVER EVER jetwash under the wheel arches of a D3
Get under there with a gentle hose and/or a sponge for god sake. Never mind, you won't do it againSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

So you can drive it through a river but can't spray it with a hose? Or is it the pressure of the jet which causes the damage? 2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7

Power and direction of the water, apply a bit of common sense and you won't have any problems
Using it in the engine bay is asking for trouble though IMHOThe End

LRA said nowt I did was wrong, and that I was lucky yesterday. Jeez would'nt know what I would have done if it happen yesterday in the rutts. Just one of those things really. At least its covered and in warrenty, so aint gonna loose any sleep over it.
Beggers beleif though, that carefully cleaning the rad (what i can see of it) and the plastic bottles, and FBH area can cause a N/S/R sensor failure. Credit me with a little savvy there Simon. The bits that were dirty, and too near the electrics were removed (battrey covers both - Engine cover) and jet washed.

Whoops, I normally spend ages jet washing the inside of the arches where all the crud builds up. Doing it just with a spunge would take ages?
