D3 09 intermittent instrument cluster

Only just got this D3, having some fun already Smile Driving last night and, oddly the entire instrument cluster went off. It came back, but it’s somewhat intermittent now.

I seem to have these issues

Intermittently the whole thing goes off. Car drives fine

Sometimes, the main LCD panel seems to go faint, or dark, then sometimes the whole thing goes off

I think this is a common thing? Dry joints on the PCB for the cluster maybe?

So far the car keeps going… hopefully it won’t just stop!

Any ideas?

It may fail to start one day.

Have a search, there are some repairers mentioned on here.
