| D2 and D3 basic traction control comparison |
|
Hi, Still looking for a replacement of my D2. Still thinking of a commercial as first choice but wondering if anyone can give feedback in the difference in basic traction control on the S model D3 and the D2. Coil version is tempting and would swap to a 2" lift as I just want reliability for long trips and green Laning.

D3 is very very good on airsuspension... and i mean for green laning..
As a former D2 owner... i can say that my D3 is even better and reliability equal for me untill now (although i did change the engine after 80mls...from new to me.. 7k Kilometers in 7 months now.. going strong!)
If you are a coil addict.. stay with coil D2 or defender (old)
D3 It is just another animal....
Although a D4, D3 is +/- the same regarding drivetrain for off road use

Hi motolab, thanks for the reply I saw those videos over the holidays. It's also just out of interest to see if someone can give a view of the basic system of the D3 compared to the D2.

Yeah i did read what you asked regarding that.. so if it is for you only coil, versus coil, i have to stop reacting indeed..
Imho, do not opt out the Air-suspension D3’s
They are so totally different with the terrain response. and what D2 do you compare to.. they (d2) are with and without central difflock and D3’s can be found with e-rear diff or (most common) without...(although not on the basic, i think)
System with terrain response is so much more advanced than a D2....
