 Cyclists.
Driving round Farnborough this AM, late for work, and traffic slow, only to find hold up was a cyclist on the road holding everyone up when parallel to the road was a Cycle Path with nothing on it.
Does my head in.

Very few cyclists asked for or wanted cycle lanes and it's not obligatory to use them. They typically finish at the point of most danger to the rider, or take you down some crappy, dark, leaf-strewn alley where you'll be lucky to stay upright long enough to get mugged. Oh, and the dog turds and general detritus on these "paths" makes them hazardous in so many ways.
Just for a moment, ignore how long it took to pass them and look at where you ended up after you passed them - that's right, at the next queue/traffic lights/roundabout - where you waited for less time as you'd waited a little longer further back in the journey.
So  to the cyclist, and sorry your journey was held up by 30seconds I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

December must be cyclists month.
Its only the 4th and they have me off twice already 
Why do these t ts think its alright to ride 3 abreast, on a main road, in rush hour, making sure nothing can get by 
I for one can't stand Lycra on blokes
Rant over, for now Member of the carrot crank club

We don't all wear lycra - anyways, cycle lanes, as already pointed out are only good for leisure cyclists not fast commuters as they are full of 5h1t and are difficult to maintain momentum on when joining/exiting. Even the lined off area of road is usually full of stones, broken glass, spreaded salt etc making it pointless and difficult to ride in.
As a regular user of my feet, cycles, motorbikes and a D3 driver I have a perspective on all forms of transport and can understand the frustration of all users. Within each group, there is a subset of tw@ts that insist that every other type of road user is a tw@t, it's a no-win situation all round.
Out of all the forms of transport I use, I would say I get the most hassle on two wheels, either motorised or not, because there is a subset of intolerant car drivers that think they have a right to use the road, which is plainly not the case.
Wind your neck in, start your journey a bit earlier, get out of the car or just take a chill pill and face the fact that driving a car in most UK towns and cities is less enjoyable than other forms of transport, why bother getting frustrated with it ?
PS the lycra brigade probably provide most of the cycling tw@t sub-set
