| Cubby fridge acting strange.. |

I have installed a 2007 D3 cubby fridge in my 2010 D4. Its only working when engine is running, thats ok. However, when driving i can hear the fridge(can hear the click, and also see the light in switch) turning off and on again, over and over. Is this normal, and if not, can it be fixed? I have noticed that the "electonic box" on front of the fridge, is a little bit loose..

I'm not an owner yet, but it might just be the fridge regulating it's temperature, a bit like your home fridge switching on and off. Have you tried using a thermometer to check the temp over a short time? If the temp stays reasonably steady, I wouldn't worry about it.

Sounds like the internal voltage sensing system in the D3 fridge switching the fridge on and off due to voltage fluctuation in the 12V supply (which could be related to the D4's battery management system).
You may be better swapping it for a D4 fridge, you could even do a straight swap with a D3 owner who has a D4 fridge fitted? 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Deffo D3 cubby fridge in D3 doesn't do any clicking on or off, I often forget to switching off at night and it's still whirring away in the morning.

I have my D3 fridge in my D4 and have never noticed it clicking on and off.
Seems to work just fine. 
Or maybe I am just not paying attention  Cheers Ian

I have been driving around with a voltmeter conected to the fridges powersupply, and it doesn't seem to be any thing here, the fridge turns off also when the voltage is on its highest. But on longer trips,longer than 20-30 minutes, the fridge stays on all the time.
