Cubby Fridge

Hi I'm getting a cubby fridge on Monday Very Happy Can anyone give me step by step instructions how to fit it into a Y 2012 HSE with rotating gear knob. I have removed the cup holders and found a Red pull strap daren't pull it though, Rolling Eyes does this remove the centre console lid? I have seen a few threads showing how to fit it into a Disco 3, but assume its a bit different on the 4

Look here for further instructions (the search will give out a few threads as well):

And don't pull the cable, it's the emergency break release... Wink

You remove the entire top of the centre console from the cubby box to the front dash. It lifts off complete with gear selector and EBP switch.

1: remove the cup holders in front of the cubby box - they just lift out.
2: Under the cup holders is a plate that says something like "water separator" (anyone know what it's for and why it says that?) - remove the two screws that hold it in place and remove the plate.
3: take a firm grip on either side of the top section of the centre console. Grip it near the cubby box and lift it straight up - it's just held down by clips. The whole section will lift. The wiring to the gear selector and EPB switch is long enough that you don't need to disconnect them and you don't really need to remove the front section where it joins the dash it will just lift from the back.

Hope that made sense - it is very easy if you're doing it for the second time but very scary the first time Thumbs Up

The red strap and coin shaped lock are there to release your gearbox from park so as to allow recovery if it has all gone wrong!

Well I've only gone and done it! Very Happy Fridge fitted this afternoon,at first I could not get the centre console out no matter how hard I pulled it, Embarassed To be truthful I was pulling in the wrong place. When it finally come up I nearly had a heart attack, I was astride the cubby box, sitting on the lid, staring through wind screen and heaved, crack!! Shocked looked down to see what I had done, all was well Thumbs Up After that everything was easy, seems to work OK light goes off when ignition is turned off.
Fridge cost £114 plus £9 postage from a Landrover breaker on e.bay. The fridge looks brand new, got a manufactured dated on it of 2013 so I'm happy.
