Does the D4 have more electrical items working than say a knackered old 54 plate D3.

My battery is 4 years old and an eBay special from a local chap.

Chuffed its still going and I hope my new Ctek will keep it that way.

Thumbs Up

Ok,using it for the first time today.....it went to stage 4 (charging) almost immediately, suggesting the battery is in reasonable condition......but that was at 9.30 this morning, and it hasn't moved since ie its been charging for 6 hours....the battery is only one and a half years old.....should I have battery concerns or is that perfectly normal for a first charge ?

Mine has been on since 8.30 this morning and is still on 4 so i guess that's normal

Mine stays on stage 4 about 8 hours ... don’t forget at 4 its deliberately charging slowly

" Charging with declining current to maximize up to 100% battery capacity."

Euan...

I realise the 25 is the one for larger batteries & has more features
but...
is there any point in having a slow smart charger that does it faster
realise its only relatively faster....but when most of the time it's happening overnight ...is there any point ?

I have found that stage 4 does vary a whole bunch....

&.....C-Teks will charge a battery with duff cells.....they arent infallible.....I found this out the hard way with my XK original fit battery some 2 years 4 months old.
charged & switched off...then would even start to start
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

The MXS25 has favour with those who reprogram their cars with an MSV or alike as it provides a nice smooth power source at an amperage that does not pull additional power from the battery.

The lower models are more popular on the forum as they can be used with the 'comfort connectors' and and charge via the tow electrics. Due to the extra amperage the MXS25 can only be connected direct to battery and has no provision for comfort connectors, only reassuringly big crocodile clips.
