Cruise Control Issues

Looking for some help with my cruise control which has stopped working. When I engage it via the button on the steering wheel all appears well on the dash, notification shows the speed selected and the little green light comes on. The problem being that the cruise control doesn’t actually kick in and the car starts to immediately slow down. Any ideas where it’s going wrong?

Unfortunately not, when I click the + the cruise control display speed increases, but the car still slows (obviously no foot on accelerator)

Sounds like the Cruise Control is not engaging.

You will need to get the codes read to start identifying the problem.

My cruise control has stopped working and I'm getting fault codes P0566 (Speed Control Off Signal) and P0578 (Speed Control multi-function input A circuit is stuck)

I've renewed the steering wheel loom and switch pack, brake pedal switch and clockspring, but still get the same fault codes. The PCM is putting out a 5v and 4.99v signal for the 5v reference circuits, but it's reading a 11.45v supply to the steering wheel switches. I'm getting the following voltages on pressing the buttons;

Battery voltage = 12.6v
'+' = 10.98v
'-' = 9.0v
'RES' = 11.16v
'Off' = 7.0v

So it looks like I'm going to have to look for a short circuit to find out why the voltage is greater than 5 volts at the switch Crying or Very sad Evil or Very Mad
