Cruise control only accelerates and iPhone won't work!
Hi there! I recently bought a discovery 4 through a private sale as an upgrade to my disco 3. I had many many sensors etc go on the disco 3 but that's common so we fixed them and got on with it! Everything seems to be going well with our disco 4 so far except 2 things.... When we activate cruise control it accelerates and just keeps going, regardless of what button you press and what speed you are doing it just pulls and pulls until you give in pressing buttons at excessive speeds and cancel it. Any ideas what could be causing it? Don't want to take it near a dealer just yet
Also, the connector for iPhones etc in the centre console doesn't work. When I connect my iPhone 6 via the use port and select use on the touchscreen it says device error... Again, any ideas?
Many thanks in advance for any help or advice!

D4 suffers from the same CC issues as D3, faulty switch pack or wiring loom would be the place to start My D3 Build Thread

I've got a PCB and silicone membrane for the D4 CC switch pack you could try, the switch will have to be opened up of course to fit it.
Thinking about it although it could be the loom, if the membrane is not located correct or is breaking up it will hold the cruise + switch on.
It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

As far as I remember on the early D4's you couldn't connect an i device via the usb port in the cubby box you had to use the special cable like this one

HD is correct. You needed a £25 iPhone connector on my MY11 but I don't think they did a lightning connector for the latest iPhones. You could try using a 30pin to lightning connector but be aware that they don't fit if you have any kind of case fitted that encloses the port as the width of the adaptor will stop it being pushed in far enough.
IMO the USB on the MY11 was a waste of space - even using a pen drive with music on wasn't successful as the volume was way too low and if you switched sources you'd sh*t yourself when the radio came on.2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT

Hello All,
I've recently bought a 2011 D4 and found the same thing with the CC.
It's OK going uphill, it remains at set speed, but on the flat or worse on the downhill it will keep accelerating. I need to click cancel, wait for the car to drop back to the speed limit, then click resume.
Does this CC system use a vacuum system to hold the speed? or is that only for older cars?
I read somewhere that vacuum hoses and/or reservoirs can fail and need to be replaced?
Cheer Tim.
