Cruise Control

I'm new to Disco3.co.uk so "Hello everybody" Smile

I have an 06 D3 HSE which is suffering from an intermittent fault with the cruise control. Basically it stops working fairly randomly (usually rectified by removing key etc.) It can be a little disconcerting when you suddenly lose power!! Has anyone else experienced this problem Question I haven't been to the dealer with it yet (bit too busy at work)

Cheers

Andy.

Yes this has been reported previous, I think it is likely to be the contacts behind the steering wheel, or possibly a faulty CC button. The dealer should be able to fix this.

Dont panic! You are not alone, mine goes to the dealer on Monday for the same fault. A tip I've learned in my limited time with Disco3.co.uk is, use the search facility prior to the panic attack! You will not be the first to experience the fault. The knowledge some of these guys have is amazing.

Mine is with the dealer right now for this very issue and they just called to tell me they've tracked the issue down to a 'Rotary Coupler' whatever that may be Confused

That'll be the 'clock spring' assembly behind the steering wheel Wink

2 Times so far

Hi,

My 2005 HSE has been in 2 times so far to get the Cruise sorted. The fist tim, Town & County said it was a software problem & all sorted now.

The next day, faulty again.

Back to dealer, new switch etc fitted. Next day not workin Crying or Very sad

I phone the dealer. Tell me they will look into problem. They phone me next day to say LR aware its an issue that will be fixed with update???

Today, Cruise is working.............Its bizzare!!!

Cheers

Same problem 'bit' with mine, but the fault was the SRS system was down.... must be common to a few things ????
..............Somewhere in-between my old D3 and what's to come next .........

What are they & should I let the dealer know?

Also I forgot to say in my earlier post.

After the D3 has been to the garage & I started it, I got a system fault message that then said "special functions off" Does this mean anything?

Cheers

Allan.

They've replaced the coupler and the cruise control seems to be ok now. (early days!) The cruise control fault on my car could sometimes be induced by using the 'minus speed' button - but not evey time, Prior to the fix I was shown a plot of the test. It showed a rough line when connected. this I'm told was the representation of a poor connection of the coupler. I'm also told that this could have contributed to my srs light fault indication.

This is a periodic fault with mine too - when it goes in for Service #1 I'll get it sorted. Drove over 200 miles in it on Friday, most of the time on cruise on the M40 & M6 - I get to the last 5 miles near me on a 40mph speed camera section and 'pop' no cruise .... Confused

Laughing You still think you can tell T&C anything......... Rolling Eyes

Most of the fault messages that appear don't actually mean a damn thing. Just switch off, wait 5 seconds and try again. Don't ever worry about a screen fault unless it persists over re-starts and overnight. Shocked
