It was announced recently that HM Govt were banning credit card surcharges from 13th Jan this year.
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/card-su...r-shoppers
Good on em
However, just went on line with HM Govt to tax swmbo's car and lo and behold when it came to paying, this message popped up on the payment page.
"There is no fee for paying with any debit card, pre-paid card or personal credit card. An additional fee of £2.50 is applicable to all other types of cards."
What's that all about then.
Paid by debit card so don't really know if charges would indeed have been applied, if not though, they could've at least updated the web page - easily enough done! ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

The way it’s phrased is £63.25 for 6 months or £60.38 if by if renewing by continuous direct debit.
The guy is in his 80’s with a terminal condition, so I think option A.

I just renewed and there is no additional charge for credit card over any other type of card, think the website is just a bit behind. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

I thought this was an EU directive so as you all are leaving the EU there is no point bringing it in for the few months of EU membership left.

Companies can still be charged a surcharge on their credit cards hence stating no fee for personal credit cards. MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added
MY2019 D5 HSE 3.0 SDV6 - sold to a dealer for a crazy price! - So good I bought another!
MY2012 D4 HSE 3.0 SDV6 - retired to a new home
