Couldn't resist in the End but lasted 3 weeks
Following on from my Cairns Blue D3 blowing its engine, I had made up my mind that it was the end of the road for me and the Discovery, had been a long journey that started in 1997 and saw 7 of them in the drive at one time or another.
However
Drove the wife's Corsa whilst the Discovery was being diagnosed and then had a hired Quashqai for a week whilst deciding what to do, during this time I tried out many off the soft roaders, Sportage and Tucson amongst others but they just didn't do it for me so against my better judgement and by chance when a member asked re pricing on here for his 2006 HSE, I decided to take the plunge, I've had it since the start of November when it had just over 45,000 miles on it, must say the condition is a credit to the previous owners and in the 9 weeks I've driven it, I've covered over 4,000 miles already.
Its been in and had the oil pump and belts done as a precaution and due to the low mileage had never had the belts done and it was fitted with the old style oil pump.
Treated it to a wash today and impressed with the Vienna green, comes up lovely, not seen another one in that colour yet.
Not really done anything to it yet apart from fit a full boot cover to protect it when the dog is on board.
Front and rear dash cam is waiting to be fitted, hopefully tomorrow and I want to remove the mirror and door handle covers as not really a fan.

Oh don't, first few weeks, every time I heard a noise I panicked and all the bongs are still activated, seat belt warning and the outside temp dropping set it off

Nice car Searaider! I really think the early D3’s are a great car for not a great deal of money, when you compare it to what else is available.
Love the colour, and cannot understand why it was not popular?

It's strange how thoughts on colours change, when we bought Moneypit I was dead set on Stornoway Grey & SWMBO said their was no way we would be getting a red one, whatever that colour is called. However as time has passed we are now both in agreement that a D4 in red would be the way forwards.
Perhaps i'm getting her to soften to the idea of replacing Moneypit with another Discovery, which last time something broke on her it was a case of "we are never buying another Landrover"
