Coolant Level Dropping
I am losing coolant every time my 05 Disco 3 is driven. I have had it pressure tested and it holds its pressure and no obvious leaks. Any ideas please?

Or with a pressurised system the expansion bottle cap.
How much are you losing?- if you don’t top up does it use more and more or does it always lose the same amount and stops at that level regardless of how often the car is used.
Does the water temperature get higher than normal?
Fill the water expansion tank full and leave the cap off, start the engine and let it run at tick over, watch the expansion bottle for bubbles rising out of the filler, any tiny bubbles visible and you have a cylinder head gasket blown It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I have a V8 so the system will be different I'm sure, but I had the same problem. In the end I got a black light pulled the car into a pitch black garage and just went over the front of the car until I found a tiny leak - visible only because I used a black light.
You have a leak from the system somewhere if the cap is OK. I'd get a black light and start investigating. Cheap and you may find it.PAGODA

Cheers will definitely give that a go see if I can find any leaks. Other than that I have had it pressure tested and replaced the cap. When I changed the cap it seemed to work fine for a bit, then did a 300 mile trip and started again. Even when you leave the car to cool over night if you take the cap off in the morning it releases some pressure!

when it was pressure tested was it hot or cold fluid in the system ?
i had a similar problem with my first Freelander 1... losing coolant but no obvious signs.
Turned out to be a split hose deep in the engine bay, that only leaked when it was hot as the rubber hosing got hot and softened and so allowed the coolant to leak. There was no leak when it was cold.

Cheers Rog. Think I’m going to have to take it back to the shop. Just can’t see anything obvious. Just done a 6 hour drive and has seemed fine. Loosened the cap a quarter anti clockwise and seems to be helping. Not sure if it was hot or cold when tested though. Just another note temp gauge is alway steady. Never moves at all.
