Coolant level
My coolant level when i check the tank is non-existent??? As in it looks like it is way below the min. mark. I haven't had any warnings and also the engine temp has never exceeded the "9 o-clock" mark.
I can't seem to find the Castrol SF that's recommended in the manual but I have a bottle of toyota long life coolant that's the same red colour. It is also ethylene glycol based and recommends the same 50/50 dilution. would this work?
I've got a long drive ahead of me tomorrow morning and it sucks that i've only just found this out now. help please.

I *think* that all long life coolants are the same i.e. there are only two distinct types, green for regular and red for long life so you should be fine putting the red in that you have. No doubt an expert will be along soon to correct me if I am wrong.
When did you last check/top up? It would be more of a worry to me to know where it was going if the level has fallen fairly quickly.

Should be ok to use the long-life red you have. Don't mix the red and blue/green though as it neutralizes the corrosion inhibitors Faultmate MSV2 EXTREME

Never ever mix the two together as they coagulate and block the system. If you're not sure what's already in there, check first else you may have a big bill to flush the system or worse!
