Yes, not only TdV6 leak, V8 do that as well, so us petrolheads can have our say here as well
I had been noticing that sweet coolant smell when warming the engine at traffic lights and a slight but constant drop in coolant level.
The leak was nowhere to be seen at there's the aluminium sump guard down there.
That until I fed up and took it off to fit a decent torch and look.
The thermostat housing had deformed and allowed the coolant to drip onto the crank pulley and spread it all over the place. At first it seemd the symptom "water pump gone" but was just the crappy Thermostat plastic housing.
At least rad is OK, and hoses as well.
Will renew coolant to be on the safe side (3 years old but with OAT you never, ever know...).
Happy Tuesday to everyone.
Robert
(now trying to make up my mind between the greek dampers, upgrading to a FFRR or going backwards to a p38, I find the D3 too heavy). Regards, Robert
