Where has all my coolant gone ??

Well, it seems my earlier power supply problems have now been identified.
Not turbo split/loose/compressed pipes.
Not EGR's
No, it was all down to lack of coolant !!! Shocked

Engine overheating [temp guage still showing normal] > Fan [not turbo] constantly whirring > Engine going into safety mode = cut in power.

Symptoms discovered last week by my local garage [note: Not LR dealer who couldn't diagnose Evil or Very Mad ]
He added around 4 - 5 litre coolant.
Just checked this morning [after just around 1k miles since Thurs] and there's no coolant in the expansion bottle. Shocked
No signs of drippage or leaks .. so where has all my coolant gone?
[in local garage today to diagnose & have intercooler fitted plus EGR's blanked off]

Head gasket possibly. Get the coolant bottle checked for hydrocarbons. Most garages can do this I think.

Yes Dunc, but so is loosing the coolant, and that usually would result in a blown head gasket, or cracked head/block etc.

I wasnt aiming the " Rolling Eyes " at the suggsetion, but doing a " Rolling Eyes " at the fact i'm on first name terms with the LRA chap Crying or Very sad

I bet Ron will have some choice first names for his car if it does need a new hg Shocked

Sorry Ron, only winding you up, are you sure its not dripping onto something hot and evaporating before it hits the ground? usually accompanied by a curry like odour from around the engine. Other possibility is a loose cap on the bottle allowing evaporation.

as it's been in the garage 'a bit' recently Ron, there might just be a coolant hose somewhere that hasn't been reattached properly on something?
