Hi All,
Found this thread as I’m keen on putting a single 7pin and a 13 pin connector onto my D4, I’ve found the official land rover wiring loom that has the 2 x 7pin 12s and 12n sockets, I’m looking at replacing the 12s socket for a 13pin socket can anyone tell me if it’s as simple as unplugging the 12s part of the wiring loom and plugging in the 13 pin wiring loom in its place or if it’s more complicated than that?
Cheers

The 12N and 12S will be one loom, much easier just to replace both sockets with a 13 pin version, “plug and pray” as others have said… takes around half an hour, less if you’ve done it before…
If you do want to go down the splicing route I have an old 13 pin socket and loom in the garage we can do a deal on rather than pay full price and find it won’t work.. I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

No you will need to run 6 new wires between the N socket to the 13 socket.
Should be able to get away with not running a wire from pin 3 earth.
And if you are really lazy or don't intend to use the 13 pin much, you could avoid running 2 wires for the tail lights (just run 1), and just link them together at the 13 pin end.
