I’d never have a running dog off the lead with a coat on, other than in a secured paddock ir similar. I’ve also never seen coats worn when in slips.

As I said, he’ll wear a coat when on the lead 👍

No not in slips but walking yes, on or off the lead (obviously not off lead when coursing) I even had Terry Ward make a coat for my whippet that picked up.

He’s not cold when he’s running around off the lead, he wears a coat much like an athlete wears a track suit.
I wouldn’t risk any running dog getting caught up in a coat if they went off after a deer for example. Something that’s become a real problem over the last ten years or so, in this part of the country. Muntjac have now become established in the immediate area as well. Twisted Evil

That’s good Paul, long may it last. I have spoken to someone less fortunate who lost their lurcher because of his coat and heard about others.

Either way Worcester has yet to be cold when off the lead.

Looking fed up on the lead wearing a coat:

That’s better:

Ok, so came up with the following solution, using some old pond pump connectors and a newly purchased 3m pond pump hose.

Started by removing air vent cover, as well as internal 'stopper' so i could block the air on one side and force all the air down hose.

Then added some of the connectors, found in the shed and turned out to be a perfect fit Thumbs Up

Added the new hose....

Then tucking it to the side of rear seat and into the back

For now, i'm just pushing it through the rear hatch of the crate, as i'm going to get a double crate and didn't want to cut into the current crate.

Eventually, I'll use another hose connector, passed through a hole in the new crate and then attach the hose Thumbs Up

Nice and simple, it'll allow warm air into the crate as well as cold in the summer

Thumbs Up

Very neat and simple (read not expensive) solution Thumbs Up

Is the connector into the air vent a standard pond pump connector? And if so I assume readily available from any garden center??

I think it's standard, but inherited the pond, fish and a box of connectors when we moved in last year.

Cost to date, was £11.57 for the 3m hose Thumbs Up

Quick update after finally finding a double crate.

Have now cut out a small hole and added the remaining connectors. Now pumps warm or cold air directly into the crate Thumbs Up

You now need to adapt a "Japanese SMOG sensor" so your system doesn't accelerate the spread of dog pharts round the cabin.
