has anyone found an insurer who will cover for Competion/Events
Normal insurance excludes competition or events which result in a winner !!...
I'm doing the croisiere this year and want to make sure Im covered. I have obviosuly checked my current ensurer hence this post.
I know some would say, dont tell them.. but, if we have an accicent and injure a third party etc I need to make sure i'm not only covered for damages, but not driving without insurance which is obviosuly an offence.
cheers Duncan

Very tricky on this. I asked around, and most say no competitions. Others say if you pay to go off-road, its amounts to competition. I really don't know, the only proven sucessful claim for off road damage is Land Rover's own insurance.
The Greenlane Association (GLASS) started pushing a tie up with an insurance company, but I looked into it and it too excluded off-road use. It was indeed green lane cover only.

Hi Gareth,
I cant find anything suitable. LR cover does indeed cover offroad but excludes use for competion, profit etc.
Ive asked the trip organisers and await a response.
Maybe there is a French company that covers. How are you addressing this for Morocco. standard insurance is OK until you run over a local and he sues your a e off Duncan

We are buying third party insurance at the border. If I trash my vehicle, its my risk. I cannot find any company that will insure Betsy fully comp in Morocco.

just spoken to TBRChris and he confirms its just a "jolly boys outing" so no competion and the organisers have some sort of insurance anyway.
so no need to worry
now I can worry about something else, like ------- when will TFC be able to wire up my LF140's and rearview/winch cameras.. Duncan

Ah yes...if you're going for one then you may as well go for a group of protesters and make a good job of it. You won't need to worry about insurance when you're in the slammer 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Well that depends, is car insurance anything like medical insurance. I want a nice cell with Plasma TV, networked PC to trawl this site and a well stocked Beer Fridge Duncan

Give these a try. They insure competition cars, service and support vehicles, tools etc. It was originally started by a chap called Richard Eggar from Loughborough Car Club who wanted to insure his rally car.
It has now turned into a major insurer from private people, to some of the worlds largest motorsport teams.
