Coil sprung suspension question

Not got my thinking hat on today...

How does the suspension work on a D3 coiler, being independent is it crossed-linked some how like air-sprung D3s?

England 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Java BlackDiscovery 3

but when the air-sprung version is in off-road height, the two sides are connected to give a beam-axle effect, which I think is what Slimer is referring to...

Yep, that's what I'm interested in, what stops it ending up sitting on it's belly in a situation with the springs fully compressed on both sides?

Hmm maybe so, suggests a beam axle would be better if you've got a coiler then Confused

But I thought it's all independent whether coiled or air Confused ...obviously the air suspension has the advantage of the dynamic suspension system to provide additional 'electronic' control ....but where is this beam connection ?? It's not physical ...is it ??

Yep a valve opens to connect the two sides back and front. I should add that I didn't know this myself until the recent training day at Boughrood.

Is the ARB five times the size on a coiler to simulate a beam perhaps?

Edit : Forget that. What a load of BCensoreds I just wrote; A beam would be the mechanical opposite of the ARB.

Coiler spec is :
Front - Independent with single rate coil spring, twin tube damper and high stress anti-roll bar
Rear - Independent with dual rated coil spring, twin tube damper and anti-roll bar
