I might drive one, but as far as that question goes - not a scooby!
All I know is that despite being at equivalent to Off-Road height due to the King Springs I fitted, she does bottom out on occasion, whereas the airsprung ones have the super extended capability.
Maybe a video of mine and an airsprung one doing the same routes/obstacles at Boughrood would help LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Don't think you would need any kind of cross linking on coils, on the flat both springs on one 'axle' share the load 50/50. When one wheel drops into a hole the load reduces, the other takes more of the load and goes into the wheel arch a bit as it is taking more of the load.
The only time you would belly out with both wheels fully compressed in the arches is as a result of a dynamic load compressing the springs at the same time i.e. hitting a big bump at high speed or landing after a jump!!
When you increase the ride height with the air springs you increase the pressure in the springs, in effect increasing the spring rate, without the cross axle v/v you would just have higher, harder springs and would loose axle articulation instead of gaining it!

Somebody's read the technical manual - LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Now theres a great motor, wish I'd never got rid of mine. Women are like swimming pools, very expensive for the amount of time you spend in them!
