clutch issues

i read somewhere that some of the disco3 s suffered from a dodgy clutch that was replaced under warrenty, anybody know what year they were as mine is 3 years old next week, done 28000 miles and sometimes the clutch smells and when in low range it jerks and judders a bit (is this normal )

Dave, search the site for TSB 308-001 (now superseded by LTB00018), should find what you need to know. If your warranty is almost up I'd make sure you report it to your dealer before it is

I had the same initial symptoms then one day I was unable to select reverse and got stranded outside TK Max....oh the shame!
Embarassed Big Cry
No problems since the new clutch/flywheel and the changes between reverse/1st/2nd are so much smoother than before. Thumbs Up
get it sorted whilst you are still under warranty

I have been told by dealer that this tech bullitin no longer applies and there are no issues with the clutch. Anybody had clutch replaced recently or been told the same as me?

I'd thought if your D3 is in the VIN range 5A300394 to 7A422271 it does apply Confused

Sounds like a trip to a different dealer or a call to LRCS would make sense

I had mine replaced at Bedales in sidcup 3 months ago on warranty- give them a try, they have always been helpful to me

If you are in the VIN range, which you will be if yours is 3 years old, GET IT DONE QUICKLY. I had 2 done under warrenty at 30K. As they didn't replace the flywheel the first time & it went again. I dread to think what the non-warrenty replacement cost is.

spoke to dealers today about clutch and quoted the tb numbers ready for them to look tomorrow when they service the car, woman said that it was only advise and would not get done under warranty even though i told them about what i read on here and those that have had it done, then said i would take it further to lrcs.
then got passed onto the manager who not heard of it but would have alook.
trouble is it does not smell all the time so not looking good
